This program is intended to encourage youth involvement in community events. While teaching the basics of guitar playing, students will be encouraged to explore and expand their knowledge of different music styles. At a certain level, they will be ready to perform live at concerts, talent shows and other events. The main focus will be on learning how to play music in a band. To achieve that, Arek will provide students with lessons as outlined in the curriculum. The curriculum is only a guideline, and depending on progress and direction of the musician's development, it may be modified.

Lessons are free to community league members but all players are encouraged to seek professional teachers to learn how to play guitar. There are many available in the community, and in the city. Just check advertisements and local music stores.

Students will have to provide own equipment as suggested on this equipment sheet.

BCL is providing a meeting place (the Community Hall), P.A. equipment, and a set of drums.

Student’s parents are encouraged to actively participate (ie. by organizing venues, fundraising, building stage inside the hall, teaching etc.)

Bring your equipment if you have it, or drop in to find out more.

When attending, please bring a completed copy of our registration form.
